Gladiator is a simply stunning online slot game. There. I’ve said it. Gladiator has been designed so that it can be played by anybody, no matter how experienced you are at playing online slot games although I would suggest that this game is aimed more towards high rollers. You can set your line bet from anything from 1p through to £50, meaning that you can play all 25 lines for anything between 25p and £1250 a spin – I told you if was aimed at high rollers!

You set your limits by clicking on the monetary icon on the left of the playing area (just above the info icon which will show you the paytable). This sets your basic line bet. You can then select the ‘Bet Per Line’ and ‘Lines’ buttons. Clicking on these will allow you to adjust how many lines and how much you wish to bet per line until you are happy. Remember – you should always play all the lines available; there is nothing more annoying than seeing a big win, or the third Scatter symbol flying in on a line that you aren’t playing on! Once that is all done, its time to start playing.

The basic aim of Gladiator is to match a minimum of three symbols running concurrently from left to right on one of your paylines. The amount that you can win will vary depending on how many and which symbols you are matching. There is also a Gladiator Helmet symbol that only appears on reels two, three and four. This symbol has two functions – it acts as a Wild symbol, helping you to get extra wins, but it also acts as the trigger for the Bonus Round, of which more of later. And best of all – if you manage to get three Gladiator symbols on reels two, three and four then not only will you trigger the bonus round, but they will also act as Wild Symbols for the spin – potentially giving you a very hefty win indeed!

Gladiator Bonus Round

Triggering the bonus round will remove the middle three reels of the Gladiator slot. In place of the reels will appear nine Gladiator helmets, one at a time. There are three different colours, Bronze, Silver and Gold. A bronze helmet with give you a 1x your total bet win, a silver one will give you 3x your total bet win and the gold ones will give you a very hefty 10x your total bet.  This means that you are guaranteed a minimum of 9x and a mximum of 90x your total bet. Not bad at all!

You will also see at Colliseum Scatter symbol spinning in on the reels. If you spin two of these in anywhere on the reels (so they don’t have to be on a winline) then you will receive a Scatter win of 1x your stake. However, this is only the start of it.  Spin three or more of these Colliseum Scatter symbols in anywhere on the reels and you will start the Colliseum Bonus.

Hold on to your hat when you get this feature. You’ll be taken via a brilliant little cut scene down into the holding cells for the Gladiators. In front of you is a 5×4 grid. You start at the bottom of the grid and select a stone from the grid at random. This will allocate you some Free Spins. You will either get the choice to pick again (and add to your Free Spins) or the choice of picks will move up a line. This line is where you choose your win Multiplier. Move up another level and select an extra Scatter symbol and finally, if you make it to the top level (and the selections will end when you land on a ‘Collect’ symbol – in the above screen shot you can see I got 14 free spins with a 2x multiplier) and you can select an extra Wild symbol – if you manage to get this high, then you are guaranteed big money as you will be playing the bonus free spins with two Wild symbols!

Once you have completed this screen you will be taken back to the main Gladiator slot game screen, but it will have changed colour to indicate that you are playing Free Spins. Normally this would be a brilliant enough feature, but there is one more suprise up Gladiators sleeve.
