I have a confession to make – I never play online slot games with the sound on. Normally its just jarring fuzzy noise that has little, if anything to do with the game being played. Firstly, you notice that its a 5 reel online slot game, but that instead of having 3 symbols per reel, it has 4 – this is how it manages to have 100 win lines. As with all online games of this type, the idea is to match symbols on concurrent win lines. With 100 winlines available, this happens quite a lot of the time – and depending on how many and what kind of symbol you match, your winnings can be quite considerable. The first of these  is the War of the Worlds Symbol. This acts as a Wild Symbol, substituting in the usual way to help you build those rows of matching symbols. They can appear on any line, and additionally, if you manage to spin two of them into one reel, then the whole reel becomes Wild – meaning that all for positions on the reel are Wild Symbols. This can happen on any of the reels and can also happen on multiple reels in the same turn. And with 100 win lines, you just know that Wild Symbols, no matter how many, will definitely help you spin in multiple line wins!

The other reel symbol you will want to make the most of is the Bonus Symbol. Its easy to identify as it has one of the Martian War Machines drawn onto it. And the word ‘Bonus’, which is always a help.

Anyway, if you spin three of these in anywhere across the reels (so they don’t have to be on a winline) you will start the Bonus Round. Unlike most bonus rounds that just involve you clicking on a symbol or image to reveal a prize, this Bonus Round actually involves some skill, and takes place over three different screens.

The better you get at the bonus round, the further through the screens you will go. Each screen you manage to get to will have bigger winnings on it, so you’d better learn to get handy with your trigger finger quickly! When you play the Bonus Round you have the chance to win up to 700x your bet, so its well worth getting!

There are two modes that you can play – one is Manual Mode, where you control the cannons yourself using your mouse, and the other is the Autofire Mode, which does everything for you – which seems kinda pointless – surely you want to be playing the game…

Three martian war machines will slowly stomp towards you. At the bottom on the screen are three cannons, which charge up (you can see the charge going up via a green bar under each cannon. When you want to press any of the buttons and try and destroy the aliens. Each time you hit one, you will win a monetary amount and if you manage to destroy one you will win even more. Keep firing the guns, until either all three aliens are destroyed or they get close enough to fire their own lasers and wipe out your guns. If the aliens manage to destroy your guns, then the Bonus Round is over; you will get to keep the money you won and then return to the normal game.

If you manage to complete this screen, you will move onto London, where you do battle again. This time the bonuses are larger.

Finally, after defeating the martians in London you will go to the last screen, which is set on the coast. This is where the serious money is, but be warned – its incredibly hard to get this far!
