However, lets start with the basics.

Like all online slot games, the idea is to match symbols across a win line. In Thunderstruck 2 there are 243 winlines (no, you haven’t read that wrong), so simply getting matching symbols on the reels in any position should be enough to start you winning! There is also a Wild symbol that can spin in on any of the pay lines. Wild symbols substitute for other reel symbols in the game and help you get multiple reel wins – and any win that you get that uses a Wild symbol is doubled, making these wins even better.

Wildstorm

Randomly generated features are always good fun, and the Thunderstruck 2 online slot game probably has the best one of them all. Called “Wildstorm” it does exactly as it says on the tin. When the Wildstorm strikes it randomly turns some of your reels Wild. Not the symbols, but the entire reel meaning that the potential for some truly massive wins can spin in at any time.

When the Wildstorm is triggered, dark storm clouds gather at the top of the screen and Thor himself jumps out of them, landing at the bottom of the game screen. After a quick look around he then disappears. The reels will all start rolling together and will stop one at a time. A random number of the reels will become totally Wild (if you look at the screenshot above you can see that reels one and two are Wild). When all the reels have stopped, your multiple wins are added together and applied to your bank balance.

As you would expect, Thunderstruck 2 also has a variety of bonus games. These are activated by spinning in three, four or five ‘Thors Hammer’ symbols. Each of these bonus games are based around a free spin round, although each bonus feature also has something extra to keep you playing…

Each time you access the Great Hall of Spins (which is where you go to when you trigger the feature, and is where you can choose which of the four bonus rounds you would like to play), you will notice a gold bar running across the screen. Each time you trigger the feature that bar will fill up. When the bar is full, it will unlock the next bonus round. You start off only being able to access the Valkyrie Bonus Feature, but the more you play (and the game remembers each time you play so you don’t have to unlock all the features in one play session) the more features you will unlock. There are four bonus rounds altogether, each with their own special take on the Free Spins routine.

Valkyrie Bonus Feature

The Valkyrie Bonus Feature is the first feature round that you will encounter when you get three or more of Thors Hammers spinning into the reel. And to be honest its not a bad feature at all and certainly makes you wonder what the other features are like!

You start off with 10 free spins, which in itself isn’t too bad for a feature round – I’ve certainly seen stingier free spins rounds (yes, I’m looking at you ‘Hulk’), but not only can these free spins be retriggered from within the bonus round, but ALL winnings are paid out at a very healthy 5x multiplier. Loki Bonus Feature

This is the first unlockable bonus feature in the Thunderstruck2 online slot game (and the second feature that you can access when you enter the Great Hall of Spins.

You start with 15 free spins that are all paid out at the usual rate. Spinning in ‘Thors Hammer’ symbols will increase the number of free spins you get – get two hammers for an additional free spin, three hammers for two more spins, four hammers for three more free spins and five hammers for an extra four free spins. These extra spins soon add up!

Loki also has ‘Wild Magic’. This symbol appears in the middle reel and if it appears during your free spins, not only does it act as a Wild Symbol, but it also reaches out and turns a random number of other reels into Wild Symbols as well, giving you the potential to earn some big multiple wins.

Odin Bonus Feature

The Odin Bonus Feature is the second unlockable bonus feature in Thunderstruck 2. You start off with 20 free spins, but Odin also has a Wild Raven feature that helps to massively increase the value of your wins.

Your free spins work in the usual way. However at the top of the screen are two black ravens. When you spin in a win, one or both of these ravens will fly around the screen and eventually fly into a reel symbol. This symbol will become either a 2x or 3x bonus multiplier, which is pretty cool. Whats cooler though is that these symbols also become Wilds, giving you the potential to generate multiple online slot wins at either a 2x,3x,5x or 6x multiple. As you can see from the screenshot, its a great way to earn big wins!

Thor Bonus Feature

It is entirely conceivable that the Thor Bonus Feature in Thunderstruck 2 is the largest bonus in any online slot game – its certainly the longest!

You start with a massive 25 free spins, but in addition to this you also get what the makers have called “Rolling Reels”. Simply put, this means that when you spin in a win (and Wild symbols are available to help you get multiple wins at a 2x multiplier) the winning symbols disappear from the reels, and any symbols on top of them shift down like they would in a game of Tetris. New symbols then drop in from the top of the reels to replace any missing ones and make up a full complement on the reels.

Thunderstruck 2 Bonus Round

If these new symbols make a win line then you win again! However, this time the win is paid out at a 2x multiplier. The symbols will disappear again and new ones will take their place. If you win again then this time the win is paid out at 3x multiplier, then a 4x multiplier, and so on until the replacement symbols fail to generate a win.

Any wins are capped at a 5x multiplier, however there is no limit to the amount of wins you can have – all the time new symbols are dropping in to replace your previous win you are still playing with the original free spin, until your replacement symbols fail to yield a win. Once this happens your next free spin will start.

In practice this can mean that you get 4 or 5 separate wins per free spin, meaning that not only do you get about 100 or so free spins, but that you will win a lot of money. And we mean a LOT. You’ll also probably go through about three cups of tea whilst the feature works its way through!

So in conclusion, I think its best just to read the words of this review again – Thunderstruck 2 is big. In fact its MASSIVE.
